Monte Syrie is the definition of what teaching is. With so many teachers teaching to the test he goes beyond to inspire those in our community and beyond. He focuses on the realities of teaching being a student and even just being human in his class. One may know him from the story about his reason for allowing a student fall asleep in class because he knew she just needed some sleep.
