Dutch Lane Elementary School
Teaching students with autism is a passion of mine. In the 30 years that I have been teaching I have established relationships with countless numbers of families and changed the lives of students. Children that were non-verbal learned to speak and families could communicate with their kids. What job could be better than making that kind of difference? I have spent out of pocket thousands of dollars over the years on my classroom. As a single mother brain tumor survivor and last year having a hysterectomy for a ovarian tumor life has not always been easy. But the love of my students and their families and the smiles and relationships that I have built throughout my career has made my life full of meaning. I put my heart and soul into my work school and community. The money that I could possibly obtain for my program would be put towards a sensory gym for my students and adaptive materials which are much needed. Thank you for considering me.
